APPROVE.

Internal approval workflow that doesn't slow anyone down. Estimator drafts. Owner reviews. One tap: approve, deny with a reason, or request modify with notes. Locked once sent — every change after that is a change order.

§ Three states

ONE WORKFLOW.

APPROVE.

Estimator’s draft → owner’s hand. One tap, sent to client. Locked from further edit. Any change becomes a change order.

DENY.

Owner kills the draft. Optional reason note ("margin too low," "scope incomplete"). Estimator gets the note in their inbox.

MODIFY.

Owner sends it back with annotations on specific line items. Estimator sees redlined diffs. Re-submits when ready.

STATE MACHINE. WHEN YOU NEED ONE.

Most estimating tools let any seat send any estimate. That's fine for solo pros, but the moment a second estimator joins (or a PM wants final say), you need a real review state machine.

Estimate Review adds it without making the solo workflow heavier — owners on FREE tier and PRO solo accounts default to “self-approve.”
